The initiative has already reached nearly 500 farmers in the vicinity of Unity Plantations’ corporate farming operations. Participants receive ongoing technical training covering advanced farming methods, crop management strategies, weather analysis, and disease prevention tactics.
Unity Foods has also reformed the procurement process by eliminating intermediaries. Unity Plantations now purchases produce directly from farmers, offering immediate cash payments at competitive market rates. This direct approach has reportedly improved farmers’ profit margins, allowing for reinvestment in their lands and better living standards.
Farrukh Amin, CEO of Unity Foods, commented on the program: “The Ba Ikhtiyar Kissan Program demonstrates our commitment to Pakistan’s agricultural sector. By providing farmers with essential resources and knowledge, we’re working towards improved food security and a more prosperous future for our communities.”
The company states that this program aligns with its broader mission to strengthen food security in Pakistan by developing an efficient farm-to-fork food supply chain system.
As the program continues to expand, Unity Foods maintains its focus on fostering trust, cooperation, and mutual growth within the farming community.
