AlUla, Saudi Arabia – TIME Magazine has recognized two of AlUla’s attractions in its prestigious ‘2024 World’s Greatest Places’ list, solidifying the region’s status as a must-visit destination. The annual compilation, curated by TIME’s global network of editors and correspondents, spotlights 100 exceptional locations worldwide.
The honored AlUla offerings are:
Dar Tantora The House Hotel: This newly opened eco-lodge, situated in the historic AlUla Old Town, blends traditional Bedouin architecture with modern luxury. The 30-room property, crafted from restored mud-brick buildings, offers guests an immersive experience in a setting over 800 years old.
Sharaan Nature Reserve: Spanning nearly 600 square miles, this vast reserve serves as a sanctuary for endangered species such as Arabian wolves, gazelles, and large-eared red foxes. The reserve aims to reintroduce and protect native flora and fauna, with plans to serve as a rewilding hub for critically endangered Arabian Leopards.
Rami AlMoallim, Vice President of Destination Management and Marketing at the Royal Commission for AlUla, expressed pride in the recognition: “These accolades from TIME reflect AlUla’s commitment to preserving and promoting its unique cultural heritage through sustainable development rooted in the community.”
