PDMA Director General Irfan Kathia has directed local authorities, including the Commissioner of Dera Ghazi Khan and deputy commissioners, to prepare for possible flooding.

Kathia emphasized the need for fully staffed emergency control rooms to be operational around the clock. Rescue 1122 teams have been instructed to maintain readiness, with adequate fuel supplies secured for rescue operations.

The PDMA has prioritized the evacuation of residents and livestock from flood-prone areas. Officials are working to ensure flood relief camps are equipped with essential supplies, including food and clean drinking water.

A PDMA spokesperson reported that the alert was triggered by increased water levels following rains in the Koh-e-Sulaiman area. The agency continues to monitor the situation closely and coordinate with local authorities to mitigate potential risks.

As the province remains on alert, residents in vulnerable areas are advised to stay informed about updates from local officials and follow safety instructions if evacuation becomes necessary.
