LAHORE – Dr. Shahid Siddique, a prominent hospital owner and founding member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was killed in a targeted attack on Friday afternoon in Valencia Town, Lahore.
The incident occurred as Dr. Siddique exited Khizra Mosque in H-block after attending Friday prayers. Eyewitnesses report that an unidentified assailant approached the victim and fired multiple shots before fleeing on foot.

Dr. Siddique sustained four gunshot wounds and was rushed to a nearby medical facility, where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim had previously served as chairman of the Lahore Transport Company during PTI’s tenure in government.
Local authorities have initiated an investigation into the shooting. The victim’s body has been transferred to the morgue for post-mortem examination.
In a statement to Dawn, the deceased’s son, who was present at the time of the attack, expressed shock at the incident. He stated that the family had no known enemies and was unaware of any motive behind the murder.
PTI leadership has strongly condemned the killing. Senior party figure Zulfi Bukhari expressed his condolences on social media, describing Dr. Siddique as a “loving human being” who had served the party and its chairman, Imran Khan, for decades.
Lahore PTI President Chaudhry Asghar Gujjar pledged the party’s support for the bereaved family and vowed to ensure justice is served.
As investigations continue, the incident has sent shockwaves through political circles in Lahore, raising concerns about the safety of political figures in the region.
