Nadeem Secures Olympic Javelin Final Spot with 86.59m Throw

Arshad Nadeem qualified for the Olympic javelin final on Tuesday at Stade de France, throwing a season-best 86.59m in his first and only attempt of the qualifier round. This performance places him fourth among the finalists, sustaining Pakistan’s hopes for an Olympic medal.

India’s Neeraj Chopra, the reigning Olympic and world champion, leads the field with an 89.34m throw, also a season best. Grenada’s Anderson Peters secured the second rank with an 88.63m first attempt.

Brazil’s Luiz Maurício da Silva and Moldova’s Andrian Mardare also advanced to the final with throws of 85.91m and 84.13m respectively.

In Group A, Germany’s Julian Weber topped the list with an 87.76m throw. Kenya’s Julius Yego, silver medalist from Rio 2016, claimed the second spot with a season-best 85.97m. Jakub Vadlejch from Czechia, currently ranked world number 1, secured third place with an 85.63m attempt.

Finland’s Toni Keranen made an impressive Olympic debut, throwing a personal and season best of 85.27m.

The javelin final is scheduled for Thursday night, where these athletes will compete for Olympic glory.
