The incident occurred around 11:00 pm local time when a floor in the hotel, located approximately 110 kilometers west of Frankfurt, suddenly gave way. The cause of the collapse remains unknown.

Police reported that out of 14 people present during the collapse, five managed to escape. Rescue teams have successfully extracted four individuals: a man, a child, and two women. However, the deceased victim has yet to be recovered.

Authorities stated that some of the trapped individuals have sustained serious injuries. Rescuers have established contact with several victims, but the operation is proceeding cautiously due to the building’s unstable condition.

The collapse prompted the evacuation of 31 nearby residents. Currently, about 250 search-and-rescue personnel are at the scene, working to locate and free the remaining trapped individuals.

Dutch media sources indicate that among those buried are members of a Dutch family from Urk, a northern Netherlands fishing town. Reports suggest that while the mother and child have been rescued, efforts to reach the father continue.

As the rescue operation progresses, authorities are focusing on safely accessing the collapsed areas while ensuring the safety of both victims and rescue workers.
